Who Are We?
Topic: Let's know one another...
Decided to dedicate an area where the contributors can share as much or as little as they want about themselves. So, don't be shy and let's get to know one another. :)

The Time Traveler's Wife
This is the extraordinary love story of Clare and Henry who met when Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six, and were married when Clare was twenty-two and Henry thirty. Impossible but true, because Henry suffers from a rare condition where his genetic clock periodically resets and he finds himself pulled suddenly into his past or future. In the face of this force they can neither prevent nor control, Henry and Clare's struggle to lead normal lives is both intensely moving and entirely unforgettable.

New Book?
Topic: What's Next????
Now that The Kite Runner is coming to an end in the next few days we need to start thinking of what our next read will be. So, if anyone out there has a book in mind, please don't hesitate to bring it up and let us continue our journey. Hopefully, we can involve more people and get some more discussions going.

Happy reading all.

The Kite Runner-Khaled Hosseini
Topic: A Journey Through Life
The Kite Runner is the award-winning and best-selling debut novel by Khaled Hosseini.

I have added a brief synopsis of the book so that the readers can get an idea of what the book is about before they go about and buy it. The book is available at most bookstore all over the UAE.

The Kite Runner follows the story of Amir, the privileged son of a wealthy businessman in Kabul, and Hassan, the son of Amir's father's servant. As children in the relatively stable Afghanistan of the early 1970s, the boys are inseparable. They spend idyllic days running kites and telling stories of mystical places and powerful warriors until an unspeakable event changes the nature of their relationship forever, and eventually cements their bond in ways neither boy could have ever predicted. Even after Amir and his father flee to America, Amir remains haunted by his cowardly actions and disloyalty. In part, it is these demons and the sometimes impossible quest for forgiveness that bring him back to his war-torn native land after it comes under Taliban rule. (www.amazon.com)

Hope this one is better than the last :)

Strangers-Taichi Yamada
Topic: First Book!!!!

We have chosen Strangers by Taichi Yamada as our first book. It is available at Magrudy's Bookshop in City Centre if anyone is interested in purchasing it. So...grab a copy and join us in our journey.

"Middle-aged, jaded and divorced, TV scriptwriter Harada returns one night to Asakusa, the old dilapidated downtown district of Tokyo where he grew up. There, at the theatre, he meets a likeable man who looks exactly like his long-dead father. And so begins Harada's ordeal, as he's thrust into a reality where his parents appear to be alive at the exact age they had been whey they died so many years before"

Topic: The Birth of a Book Club
One night, while talking to a friend about books, she came up with the wonderful idea of starting our own book club. So, here is the beginning of what we hope is an interesting venture.
